ASIA/CHINA - Immediate response from Chinese Catholics to help seaquake victims

Beijing (Fides Service) - Chinese Catholics were quick to respond to provide relief aid for victims of the December 26 seaquake. In collaboration with international charity organisations the Bei Fang Jin De Foundation has launched a campaign to collect funds for people in the affected areas. Handan diocese in the province of Hebei was among the first to mobilise the faithful who have already collected a large sum. Moreover in every local community Chinese Catholics are praying to sustain the suffering people with novenas, rosaries, prayer vigils for the dead and for the homeless survivors.
