AMERICA/HAITI - New cabinet of Haiti to be sworn in today

Monday, 19 January 2015

Port au Prince (Agenzia Fides) - The ministers of the new government of Haiti should swear in today, Monday, January 19, at 4 pm (local time), as announced by President Michel Martelly last night. The President had promised a new government (see Fides 14/01/2015) after the dissolution of parliament due to the failure of the negotiations to reach agreement on a new electoral law.
Yesterday the new Prime Minister, Paul Evans, made statements to EFE agency and called on international donors to change the form of aid to Haiti. He criticized that many times these countries act on their own initiative, without consulting the Haitian government on the priorities and major concerns. (CE) (Agenzia Fides 19/01/2015)
