Hong Kong (Agenzia Fides) - The Diocese of Hong Kong will open the Year of Faith, "of renewal and conversion," with a solemn Mass to be celebrated on Sunday, December 16, at the conclusion of the diocesan Year of the Laity. According to the Kong Ko Bao (the Chinese version of the diocesan bulletin), Mgr. Dominic Chan, Vicar of the Diocese and President of the Diocesan Group for the Year of Faith, presented the diocesan program emphasizing two themes: "renewal and conversion." Various activities at the parish and diocesan level will be organized, as well as the Catholic associations, in addition courses and seminars are scheduled to explore the themes of the Year of Faith, and the publication of the related texts.
Mgr. Chan urged the faithful to certain attitudes and concrete actions in the Year of Faith: publicly recognize Catholic identity, proclaim and express faith with the Creed, deepen and strengthen faith before receiving the sacraments, retrace the teachings of the II Vatican Council and the Catechism of the Catholic Church, take part in at least four diocesan initiatives during the Year of faith, face the challenges of daily life with faith.
