ASIA/TAIWAN - To form the youth so that they are followers of Christ; towards World Youth Day in Taiwan

Hsin Chu (Agenzia Fides) - The formation of young people, so that they are followers of Christ and witnesses of the Lord, was the objective of the fourth Taiwan Youth Ministers' Meeting (TYMM), which was held from October 9 to 12 at the Pastoral care Center of the diocese of Hsin Chu. According to the Catholic Weekly, the weekly bulletin of the Archdiocese of Tai Pei, the 35 youth ministers who took part in the meeting came from seven dioceses in Taiwan and 9 religious institutes active on the island. The first day of the work was focused on the spiritual direction and a moment of communion; the following day was dedicated to the preparation of the program of World Youth Day in Taiwan, which will be held from August 14 to 19 in the diocese of Lien Huan, to make experience among indigenous peoples; the last day of the Meeting was dedicated to analyzing last year’s work planning the next, following a few themes: faith formation, liturgy and spirituality, evangelization and service, fundraising.
The Taiwan Youth Ministers' Meeting (TYMM) is an initiative launched in 2010 by the Youth Section of the Commission for the Evangelization of the Regional Episcopal Conference of Taiwan. During this annual meeting, depending on the agenda of work, youth ministers can meet, share, pray and plan together, in an atmosphere of deep communion.
