Xi An (Agenzia Fides) - The preparatory Seminary of the Archdiocese of Xi An in the province of Shaan Xi welcomed 17new seminarians in the opening of the new school year, celebrated on September 2 in the presence of His Exc. Mgr. Dang Ming Yan, Archbishop of Xi An. As reported to Fides by Faith of He Bei, about a hundred people, including priests, seminarians, lay people of the Third Franciscan Order and members of the Group of Charity of the parish of Bei Tang, attended the Eucharist during which Mgr. Dang thanked the Lord for these 17 vocations.
Fr. Liu Bin, Rector of the seminary, said: "this is one of the years with the highest number of new seminarians in recent times. They are youngsters who have just finished high school or professional institute. They come from the provinces of Shaan Xi, Si Chuan, Guang Doong and many others, they are away from home. I invite you to continue to give them attention and love, as if they were your children, as you have always done so far. Every good seminarian can be a good priest, and every good priest is a temple of God. Your attention and your love could be the catalysts of their vocation." As usual, the group of lay people made a donation to the seminar in educational tools and logistics. (NZ) (Agenzia Fides 04/09/2012)
