Khartoum (Agenzia Fides) - The two priests kidnapped in Sudan on 15 January are free. This is confirmed to Fides by sources of the Archbishopric of Khartoum: "The two priests were released yesterday, January 30, around 4 pm local time and today will arrive here in Khartoum, in the home of Cardinal Gabriel Zubeir Wako, Archbishop of Khartoum".
Fr. Joseph Makwey, forty, and Fr. Sylvester Mogga, thirty-five, had been abducted on the evening of Sunday, January 15 from the parish of Saint Josephine Bakhita, in Rabak, a town 260 km south of Khartoum. "They are in good conditions, even if we do not yet have all the details on how they were treated during the two weeks of captivity", said sources of Fides, stressing that no ransom was paid for the release of two priests.
