Friday, 11 November 2011

Yirol (Agenzia Fides) – A new pavillion has recently been inaugurated in Yirol, one of the poorest areas of the newborn South Sudan, the OPD (Out Patient Department), the new 250 square meters wing with First Aid service and several surgeries, which will provide an average of 3 000 outpatient visits per month to a population of over 280 thousand people. The building, founded by the organization Doctors with Africa-Cuamm, is the widest part of the hospital. The project, dedicated to St. Josephine Bakhita and to the memory of Msgr. Bravo and Msgr. Doppio, was made possible thanks to the contribution of the Diocese of Vicenza and the generosity of many donors. The hospital of Yirol, renovated by Cuamm, was inaugurated in 2008 by Bishop Cesare Mazzolari, who died last July, in Southern Sudan. (AP) (Agenzia Fides 11/11/2011)
