Bologna (Agenzia Fides) - From 21 to 23 October 2011, the Italian Association Friends of Raoul Follereau (AIFO) will celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of its foundation on the occasion of the XXIII International Conference which this year will be on "Experiences of Hope." The intent is to give voice and importance to people who from a situation of great difficulty and discomfort have found the strength and the necessary tools to improve their lives. In the context of this conference, the Italian Network of Disability and Development (RIDS), will organize a workshop on the commitment on behalf of Italy in the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in terms of Development Cooperation. The main objective is the comparison of practices between the different protagonists of the development cooperation, to provide participants with information and tools on the Convention. Of particular importance will be the analysis of instruments produced by the UN High Commissioner on Human Rights, by the European Union and by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
