AMERICA/ARGENTINA - Pontifical Mission Societies: 75 years of missionary work in Salta

Tuesday, 27 September 2011

Salta (Agenzia Fides) - This coming Saturday, October 1, the Feast of St. Therese of the Child Jesus and the beginning of the Missionary month, in the Basilica Cathedral of Salta dedicated to the Virgin of the Miracle a solemn Mass of thanksgiving will be celebrated for two important anniversaries: 75 years of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) presence in Salta and 20 years of the foundation of CONAMIS (Consejo Nacional de Misiones-National Council of Missions), which gave rise to the organization and coordination of missionary service in the archdiocese. The note sent to Fides informs that after the Mass on Saturday 1 October, from the Cathedral a march to the Colegio de Jesus will begin, where there will be a big missionary party. "This party should be everyone’s and for every missionary of our archdiocese, children and adolescents of Missionary Childhood and Adolescence, their leaders, youth and adult missionary groups, the sick and elderly people, missionaries, parish pastoral workers who work for the missions, and all those who want to live their lives in the missionary vocation", concludes the message.
