ASIA/CHINA - Support for vocations is the mission of the parish of Bei Tang in the archdiocese of Xi An

Xi An (Agenzia Fides) - To support and accompany vocations, both materially and spiritually, especially the seminarians of the Minor Seminary: this is the imperative mission of the parish of Bei Tang, in the archdiocese of Xi An, Shaan Xi province. In fact, at every opening of the school year, the group "Heart to Heart" of the parish, visits the seminarians to learn about their needs, especially those of the new seminarians. According to information sent to Fides, on September 11, the group went to the Minor Seminary to pay a visit to the 36 seminarians bringing with them new curtains for the rooms and classroom windows, the cassock for the 8 new seminarians, a contribution towards the expenses of the Seminar and lots of food. During the meeting with the Rector, spiritual directors, professors and seminarians, the group wanted to know the situation and needs of the new seminarians’ families of origin, in order to guarantee them a peaceful formation. In addition, when they learned that in October, autumn sports games have been organized, members of the group "Heart to Heart" immediately gave them their availability to provide sports shoes to all the seminarians and to pay the expenses for this experience.
