Hong Kong (Agenzia Fides) - Fr. Paul Leung, SDB, a Salesian from Hong Kong, has invented a program for the mobile phone called iBreviarium, to encourage the faithful to join in the prayer of the Liturgy of the Hours throughout the day. According to reports from the Kong Ko Bao (the Chinese version of the diocesan bulletin), from August 1, when it was launched with the iPhone, until 19 August, 600 people downloaded the program, Traditional Chinese, from http:// itunes.apple.com/hk/app/id452205871? mt = 8. In the future, the Salesian priest plans to launch even the simplified Chinese language version and the version for users of Android, as well as offering even the liturgical calendar and the history of the Church’s Saints. Fr. Leung served in the General House of the Salesians in Rome for more than 20 years, where he was able to appreciate the prayer of the Liturgy of the Hours on behalf of the faithful from Rome. So when he returned to Hong Kong three years ago, he immediately thought to promote the initiative among the local faithful, creating the website and today by means of the mobile phone.
