Thursday, 25 August 2011

Lima (Agenzia Fides) - With the slogan "The Young, committed to a new life" the Public Collection of Solidarity Campaign "Compartir 2011" will be held at a national level on Friday 26 and Sunday, August 28: solidarity actions on behalf of the Peruvian Episcopal Conference which this year promotes the importance of youth as the future of society. During these two days, hundreds of volunteers will be on the streets of cities and towns to gather the support of people who wish to contribute to this campaign. On Sunday the collection will take place in all the churches and parishes in the Country. From the note sent to Fides by the Peruvian Episcopal Conference one learns that the goal of the Campaign "Compartir 2011" is to assist young Peruvians, especially the most excluded, who are often not able to access even basic services like health and education. The campaign also aims to support young people with disabilities, indigenous youth and those who are at social risk (gangs, criminal gangs, drug dealing, etc..). (CE) (Agenzia Fides 25/08/2011)
