Shi Jia Zhuang (Agenzia Fides) - To encourage evangelization through mass media. This is the intention underlined by His Exc. Mgr. Mneg Qing Lu Bishop of the diocese of HuHeHaoTe and by His Exc. Mgr. Du Jiang Bishop of the diocese of Ba Meng in Inner Mongolia, during their visit to Faith, the biggest Catholic organization of social communication on the continent which operates China's most important Catholic hard-copy publication and online.
According to reports from the local Catholic community of He Bei, the two Bishops of Inner Mongolia that are approved by the Holy See and in communion with Pope Benedict XVI, visited with their respective delegations Faith headquarters. The office is located in the diocese of Shi Jia Zhuang , the capital of the province of He Bei which is the stronghold of Catholicism in China. Faith runs a newspaper, a weekly magazine, Faith website; the Jinde Charities and Faith Institute for Cultural Studies (FICS). This year Faith also marks the 20th anniversary of its foundation (April 1991) , its publications began in September 1991.
After the Eucharistic celebration, the faithful of Inner Mongolia shared and exchanged their experience with our brothers and sisters of He Bei. Mgr. Meng Qing Lu thanked for the scholarships offered by Jinde Charities in all these years to a large number of Mongolian students from poor families, both Catholic and from other faiths. According to the Bishop, "Faith's contribution to evangelization in China is inestimable. In our province which is poor, the newspaper and Faith website for some time have been the only source of information regarding the Catholic world and the universal Church and the Pope ... The result of this evangelization through the mass media is evident in all the mainland. Now it is up to us to launch evangelization in our province through the media ".
