Shi Jia Zhuang (Agenzia Fides) - The 20 "Models of evangelization today" elected by mainland Chinese Catholics through Faith in He Bei, were awarded on July 13 at the Major Seminary in He Bei. The initiative is part of the celebrations for the 20th anniversary (April 1991) of the foundation and the beginning of the publications (September 1991) of Faith, the largest Catholic publishing house in the Chinese Catholic world. Faith remembers this anniversary with many other initiatives to emphasize its essential mission: Evangelization. According to the leaders of Faith "the service to evangelization is much more significant than just the festive celebration".
According to what was reported to Fides, the election of the "Model of evangelization today" was launched in April and ended on July 12. He had great resonance in the continental Catholic world, which responded with e-mails, faxes, phone calls, letters ... to present the activists of the evangelization of their parish, their community base, their village .... Among the top 50, 20 were selected by a vote. According to one of them: "we are not worthy of this award because evangelization is our duty, and there are many people who work in silence, devoting themselves to mission, perhaps in the most difficult conditions. We are only their representatives. And the award encourages us to continue the mission of making it even more fruitful". In the following days the winners also exchanged their experiences regarding evangelization with the summer camping university students and with 85 major Seminarians from all major continental Seminaries for the Summer Camp organized by Jinde Charities (see Fides 22/07/2011 ).
