Shi Jia Zhuang (Agenzia Fides) – To experience the Love of Christ, to know the importance of the Church's charitable and voluntary work, to train qualified people for the social service of the ecclesial base communities so that they are eloquent witnesses in the evangelization "Deus Caritas Est": these are the reasons for the major seminarians summer Camp held in mid-July from Jinde Charities, the Chinese Catholic charitable organization, at the major Seminary in He Bei. According to what Fides learns from Faith, about eighty major seminarians from all the major Seminaries of the continent took part in the Camp, during which they shared the experience of faith and community life and visited the charitable structures and social service in He Bei managed by the local Catholic community.
According to the Vice Executive Director of Jinde Charities, "the seminarians, that is to say the future priests, are very important for the charitable work of the Church together with the whole Catholic community, in fact the charitable activity is an essential tool for evangelization in the Chinese environment . Both for the earthquake in 2008 and in 2010, and in the material and psychological aid, the Catholic Church is becoming more and more important, has a vital role and also appreciated by the population and civil authorities. So we want the seminarians to understand more deeply that the Love of Christ is not only for the Church, but also for the weakest members of society, as Jesus himself taught us. With them, we thus set the basis for future charitable work of Catholic base communities". (NZ) (Agenzia Fides 07/22/2011)
