ASIA/CHINA-The seminarians of Shaan Xi Shang Hai in pilgrimage at the conclusion of their studies

Shang Hai (Fides Service) - Giving thanks to the Lord because he has called them and accompanied them in their path in these formative years; to pay homage to Our Lady who has always assisted them, to thank all the generous benefactors who have enabled them to conclude the formation: are the main reasons for the pilgrimage that led 14 major seminarians to Shang Hai, the 2004 class of the Seminary of Shaan Xi who have completed their studies.
According to information gathered by Fides, the seminarians, led by the Head of the educational Seminary, during the pilgrimage to Shang Hai attended a solemn Mass of thanksgiving, they visited His Exc. Mgr. Alius Jin Lu Xian , the 90-year old Bishop of Shanghai, and his Auxiliary , His Exc. Mgr. Joseph Xing Wen Zhi, thus having the opportunity to learn about the development of the diocese of Shanghai over the past 20 years. They also shared with the seminarians of the Major Seminary of She Shan of the diocese of Shang Hai, the experience of vocation, community life, evangelization today and how to deal with future priestly life. Finally, they also visited the Publishing House of Guang Qi, the Diocesan typography, the Social Service Centre of Guang Qi, the Center for Spirituality, the tomb of Paul Xu Guang Qi, the first Mandarin Chinese baptized by Father Matteo Ricci, who was also his greatest collaborator.
