Han Dan (Fides Service) – Promotion of the Eucharistic adoration and devotion to the Sacred Heart; to form the basic ecclesial communities in the parishes: were the main topics of the monthly retreat for priests of the diocese of Han Dan (originally Jing Xian) in the province of He Bei, which was held on July 4 and 5, led by His Exc. Mgr. Peter Feng Xin Mao, the diocesan Bishop. According to information received by Fides, during the retreat Mgr. Feng urged his priests: "We promote Eucharistic adoration and devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus because they are the strength and the reason for all the charitable and missionary works. The basic ecclesial communities can help members learn more about the Bible through the help of a guide which carries out a work of charity and evangelization".
With the start of the school summer holidays, the diocese has also started a catechism summer course for children and young people. The nuns of the diocesan Congregation of the Holy Spirit Comforter opened the third edition of the course which saw the participation of twice as more people compared to the past. In fact more than one hundred children, Catholic and non-Catholics, enrolled in the one-month course. During the opening, on July 6, the superior of the Congregation renewed her commitment to take care of children using the best human and material resources to ensure growth of faith, science and human personality. The teachers are the best, selected among the nuns and faithful lay. Each class will be followed by a full-time nun. Responding to the demands of Catholic parents, the course also helps prepare children to receive the First Communion. (NZ) (Agenzia Fides 11/07/2011)
