ASIA/CHINA-The solemnity of the Sacred Heart celebrated in various continental communities

Saturday, 2 July 2011

Shi Jia Zhuang (Agenzia Fides) - With the Holy Mass, Eucharistic adoration, the profession of religious vows, several Chinese communities celebrated the solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which recurred yesterday, July 1.
Among the information received by Fides, we underline that 5 nuns of the Congregation of the Sacred Heart of Jesus of Fu Shun (which now belongs to the diocese of Liao Ning), professed the perpetual vows on the day of the patronal festival and also the anniversary of 70 years of the foundation of the Congregation. Mgr. Paul Pei Jun Min, Bishop of the diocese of Liao Ning, approved by the Holy See, presided over the solemn celebration thanking the nuns for the affection, the eloquent witness and generous service, defining them "the treasure of the diocese." The Bishop then invited the priests to imitate the nuns in the spiritual life, pastoral work, charitable work and in the mission of evangelization. In fact, during the serious natural disasters which have occurred in all parts of China, the Chinese nuns, including the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus of Fu Shun, have always been the first to reach the affected areas and to work tirelessly to help the people. After professing the vows, the 5 religious women were destined to the parish, to the clinic of the congregation and the civil university, for further training.
With 24 hours of continuous Eucharistic Adoration, the Association of the Sacred Heart of the parish dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Shun Qing, in the diocese of Nan Chong, opened the solemn celebration of the Patronal Festival . Over 300 parishioners attended the solemn Mass on July 1, during which 57 members of the Association renewed their vow of fidelity to the Sacred Heart receiving the missionary mandate of the parish priest.
