AMERICA/ARGENTINA-Third Workshop of the Missionary Groups; on October 1 the opening of the October missionary in the coastal region

Funes (Agenzia Fides) - On 25 and 26 June, the laboratory of the Missionary Groups for the coastal region was held in the town of Funes, Archdiocese of Rosario. There were 29 participants belonging to the dioceses of Rosario, Gualeguaychú, Rafaela, Santa Fe de la Vera Cruz, San Nicolas de los Arroyos and Paraná. It was the 3rd workshop for missionary groups, promoted by the national team of the Missionary Groups of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS). According to information received by Fides, the responsibility of organizing and animating the encounter was entrusted to Maria Victoria Alvarez and Laura Fregosi, both from the national team, accompanied by Father Osvaldo Leone, National Director of the PMS, and Sister Mariel Robledo, head of the Pontifical Society for the Propagation of Faith upon which this service depends.
In addition to the lay, members of missionary groups, Fr. Aldo Escobar, a Redemptorist priest and Fr. Fabian Rivero, diocesan Director of the PMS in Rafaela led the workshops. In addition, Fr. Ariel Barbero, diocesan Director of the PMS in Rosario, Fr Ameris Sebastian, Director of Missionary Childhood and Adolescence for the diocese in Rosary. Fr. Pedro Brassesco, diocesan Director of PMS in Gualeguaychú, Fr. Ignacio Balbo, diocesan Director of Santa Fe, Adriana Pesci, Director of the diocese of San Nicolas PMS took part in the laboratory. The latter has invited the whole coastal region to the opening of the Missionary Month of October, which this year will be held at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary in San Nicolas on Saturday, October 1 at 5pm. For the third time the October Mission will begin from one of the pastoral regions of the country, this year the coastal region.
On Saturday, June 25 Fr. Osvaldo Leone and the priests present at the workshop attended the Mass of Corpus Christi celebrated in front of the Cathedral, presided by the Archbishop of Rosario, Mgr. José Luis Mollaghan, and followed by the solemn procession. Besides the friendly welcome, the Archbishop of Rosario encouraged the various activities since the beginning of missionary animation and formation organized by the Pontifical Mission Societies in the diocese.
