Beijing (Agenzia Fides) - To strengthen and better coordinate the activities of evangelization thus responding to the needs generated by the Year of Evangelization of the Lay promoted by the diocese, the Cathedral of Beijing dedicated to the Holy Saviour (the so-called "Bei Tang"), has created a Center of Evangelization. According to information gathered by Fides, the new coordination structure of evangelization includes the group of pre-baptismal catechism, the group of post-baptismal, the youth choir, the Association of Catholic youth, the group of sharing the Sacred Scriptures for young people. They all meet on Sunday afternoon or Saturday evening, according to the members working needs. Moreover, each component of the Centre has his own website or his blog to expand communication and to unite young people in particular, using their language. The group of sharing the Sacred Scriptures for the young, founded in April 2002, has great success in the evangelization of youth. Today it is one of the most committed groups of young parishioners of the Cathedral, "so there is a greater number of people who know the Word of God, it promotes the spiritual growth of young Catholics, and the Gospel is closer to people's lives and people's lives are increasingly evangelized, so that all may be faithful servants of the Lord".
