EUROPE/POLAND-“Do not be afraid to become saints": Childhood Congress in Czestochowa

Czestochowa (Agenzia Fides) - The Congress of Missionary Childhood of the Archdiocese of Czestochowa will be dedicated to the Blessed John Paul II to be held on June 14 at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary in Myszków Mrzyglód, and its theme will be a popular expression used by Pope Wojtyla, "Do not be afraid to become saints. " According to information sent to Fides, all the leaders of the Pontifical Mission Societies together with the diocesan Director of the Archdiocese, Father Jacek Gancarek will take part in the Congress. There will be different groups of young people and missionary children : the voluntary missionary, youth leaders, groups of the Rosary, groups of PMS of different parishes and schools of the Archdiocese.
The Mass of thanksgiving for the beatification of John Paul II will be presided by Archbishop Stanislaw Nowak, Archbishop of Czestochowa. The liturgy will be animated by the musical group Promyczki dobra ("rays of goodness"). During the Congress the missionary catechesis will be presented and the theme will be: "With John Paul II we learn to become saints" and an exhibition dedicated to the missions of the Church will be exposed. At the Congress, the Catholic weekly Niedziela, in its diocesiana edition, has prepared material dedicated to Missionary Childhood and an interview with Father Zbigniew Trala who worked in Zambia, entitled "Children of Africa are always together ".
