EUROPE/ITALY-African Day: a day for the right of mothers and children health in Africa

Padova (Agenzia Fides) - In Italy, for every hundred thousand children born, 12 mothers die due to different causes. 2,054 die in South Sudan: 170 times more. On the occasion of World Day for Africa, which will be celebrated on May 25, the Association of Doctors with Africa cumm will take to the streets of Italy to promote the rights of African mothers for free and safe childbirth. From May 25 to 29 hundreds of volunteers will gather and dozens of events will be held for one big party wanted to express solidarity and commitment to the continent friend. The African Day, an event held on the occasion of World Day for Africa, established in memory of the founding of the African Union, on May 25, 1963, is organized by local groups of Doctors with Africa-Cuamm in collaboration with other realities of the world of associations and voluntary associations.
