Monday, 18 April 2011

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - At the end of the liturgical celebration on Palm Sunday and Passion of the Lord, that the Holy Father Benedict XVI presided in Saint Peter's Square Sunday, April 17, the Pope introduced the Angelus addressing the pilgrims in different languages. In particular, he recalled the meaning of Palm Sunday, and asked to live intensely the Holy Week and renewed the invitation to attend the World Youth Day which will be held in Madrid in August. Addressing the faithful in the Spanish language, the Holy Father made a special plea for Colombia, with these words: "Today I also think about Colombia, where the Day of Prayer for the victims of violence will be celebrated next Friday. I join in spirit with this important initiative and I strongly urge Colombians to take part, while I pray to God for all those in this beloved nation who have been robbed of their lives and their belongings. I renew my urgent appeal to conversion, repentance and reconciliation. No more violence in Colombia, but only peace!”. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 18/04/2011)
