Port-au-Prince (Agenzia Fides) – More than a year on from the grave earthquake that shook the island of Haiti the education system is distressing. Students still attend lessons in tents. A solidarity campaign, “The future of Haiti is in education” was initiated to try to address this emergency and return a minimum of serenity to the lives of Haitian children. The campaign, which just concluded, was promoted throughout Salesian schools in the Dominican Republic. School supplies were collected for young Haitian students.
