ASIA/CHINA - Organ blessed and inaugurated in the Cathedral of Tian Jin, the largest church in China

Tian Jin (Agenzia Fides) – The organ, which was blessed and inaugurated in the Cathedral of Tian Jin, is the work of well-known Czech factory Rieger-Kloss Organs. Attending the solemn ceremony, which took place on 10 February, were: Bishop Peter Feng Xin Mao, Bishop of the Diocese of Jing Xian (today Heng Shui); the parish priest, Fr Zhang Liang; the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Beijing; the CEO of the Rieger-Kloss factory; and a large group of priests, religious and laity from the Dioceses of Beijing, Tian Jin, Tai Yuan, and Cang Zhou. According to information sent to Fides, after the blessing of the organ, the professional musicians, Chinese and Czech, and the Cathedral Choir performed the most famous sacred songs, accompanied by the notes of the new organ, which represents the musical instrument with the best acoustics and it is the largest of those found in churches throughout China.
