OCEANIA/AUSTRALIA - Little damage to Brisbane Catholic schools who will reopen shortly

Monday, 17 January 2011

Brisbane (Agenzia Fides) – The floods in Brisbane appear to have caused limited physical damage to Catholic schools, said Brisbane Catholic Education. “There has, of course, been a significant impact on the homes of many staff, students and families. Brisbane Catholic Education will work in collaboration with government and Church agencies to provide support to those affected,” the body said in a media release sent to Fides. “The best way the community can support those who are affected is to contribute to the Bishops of Queensland's flood appeal, being conducted by the St Vincent de Paul Society,” said Executive Director at Brisbane Catholic Education, David Hutton.
