Czestochowa (Agenzia Fides) – On Saturday, 18 December, the Pontifical Society of Missionary Childhood in the Archdiocese of Czestochowa organized a pilgrimage to the church of San Giacomo, where the material prepared for missionary animation for this period was presented and the sending of missionary groups of children and young people was celebrated. “We want children and young people to give new spiritual strength to the Missionary Society of our Archdiocese,” Fr Jacek Gancarek told Fides, diocesan director of the PMS of Czestochowa. “In our meeting we also wanted to express our gratitude for the gift of the missionary encyclical by John Paul II, 'Redemptoris missio', which was published 20 years ago.”
The initiative was attended by all the leaders of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) of the Archdiocese, along with the Archdiocesan Director, Fr Jacek Gancarek. Receiving special invitations were the various missionary groups of youth and children: missionary volunteers, youth leaders, Rosary groups, the Militia Immaculatae, PMS groups from different parishes and schools in the Archdiocese of Czestochowa. The Holy Mass was presided over by Archbishop Stanislaw Nowak of Czestochowa. (MF/SL) (Agenzia Fides 20/12/2010)
