He Ze (Agenzia Fides) - “The inauguration of the parish church dedicated to Christ the King is a sign of the revival of our mission of evangelization”: are the words of the head of the Diocese of Ze He, in the province of Shan Dong, spoken during the consecration and inauguration of worship at the new Cathedral dedicated to Christ the King, which was held on 26 November. According to information received by Fides, over 2,000 faithful attended the solemn rite, preceded by a procession with the Cross, which was presided over by Bishop Zhang Xian Wang, Bishop Ordinary of Ji Nan Diocese, and concelebrated by 36 priests.
The Diocese of He Ze (Tsaochow), the mission of the Divine Word (SVD), now has more than 10,000 faithful, with four priests, one deacon and eight religious. After the death of Bishop Wang Dian Duo, in 2005, the seat is still vacant.
The new church has a Gothic style, and is also a beautiful monument for the city, as often happens in China, capturing the attention of people, especially young people, driven by curiosity to approach the church, and in many cases, begin a dialogue with priests asking for information on the Christian life, on faith, on Jesus Christ....
