Guatemala City (Agenzia Fides) – Caritas Guatemala announces with happiness and enthusiasm the release of its new website: www.caritasguatemala.org. The page has a number of changes to it due to issues noted by a Working Group throughout the year, revealed the communication sent to Fides. The statement reads: “We know that it is not perfect, but we haven taken great care to make these changes according to communication and update requirements to share with everyone what is happening in our beloved Guatemala.”
All this work was made possible thanks to financial support from Caritas Norway, said the statement: “We have gone to great lengths to purchase professional equipment that will allow us to keep up with technology; nevertheless even relying on staff, facilities and other equipment, without the support of Caritas Norway this dream could not have come true.” The text concluded with recalling the full visibility to all site visitors: “Of course in future we will require further changes and that will be dealt with at the time; today we place at your service our new website, which is available to everyone, domestically or overseas.”
On the site, which is very clear and easy to navigate, you can find the latest ecclesial news of the country and the various projects that Caritas is planning. Three new sections are highlighted: one dedicated to the environment, the section of the national strategic plan of Caritas (with Bishop Alvaro Leonel Ramazzini Imeri of San Marcos and President of the Episcopal Commission for Social Pastoral Care), and a section dedicated to Camexpa, the group formed by Caritas in Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, Panama and El Salvador. Camexpa is particularly committed to promoting and defending human rights, especially the most vulnerable groups, including women and migrants. (CE) (Agenzia Fides 25/11/2010)
