Carcarañá (Agenzia Fides) – About 44 youth missionaries from different parts of the Archdiocese of Rosario took part in an Initiation of the Workshop in the city of Carcarañá, organized by the Pontifical Society of Holy Childhood Association (in Spanish, IAM). Representatives of Carcarañá, Rosario, Funes, and Perez, were led by Sister Marcella Davies, National Secretary of the IAM, and Carmen Aguilar Garay, of the National Secretariat of the IAM and Director of the Coastal Areas.
According to information received by Fides, during the workshop they talked about everything related to the missionary work of IAM, as well as concrete steps that demonstrate growth within the Archdiocese of Rosario in what concerns the animation, integration, and the formation of the IAM. The Pontifical Mission Societies, through their National Director, Father Osvaldo Leon, thanked the missionary service offered by the laity of Carcarañá, by Fr. Ariel Barbero, Diocesan Director of the PMS, and Fr. Rubén Antonio Papaleo, Pastor of Our Lady of Pilar in Carcarañá, which hosted the meeting.
The IAM often organizes such meetings, which bring together large groups of teenagers and children. Just last month, in Rio Grande, in Tierra de Fuego, the Tenth Meeting for Children ("Fueguinos") was organized and was attended by over 500 children from all over the area. The central theme was the missionary vocation of the children of IAM. (CE) (Agenzia Fides 18/11/2010)
