AFRICA/BURKINA FASO - 185 kids at kindergarten run by Sisters Apostles of the Sacred Heart in Nanoro

Nanoro (Agenzia Fides) – Nanoro's mission is the first built by the Sisters Apostles of the Sacred Heart in Burkina Faso, who have been in the country for over 20 years. It is home to a kindergarten and a school for sewing for girls. As Fides learned from Sister Marguerite Ouedraogo, Superior of the school and professional nurse, "This year the school has 185 children and the days run fast. The kids come every day and receive a human, spiritual, and cultural education. They are always happy to come here. They socialize early on with simplicity and we note with pleasure their growth. We ask the Lord to give us the strength each day to give them our best," said Sister Marguerite. In addition to the Sisters Apostles of the Sacred Heart, another two institutions are present in Nanoro: the Brothers of the Holy Family who take care of a farming center and a School of Agriculture, which prepares young people to use their professional skills to fully exploit natural resources, and the Camillian Missionaries running the regional hospital with an adjoining maternity ward and the Center for Education and Nutritional Recovery of malnourished children.
