Saturday, 25 September 2010

San Fernando del Valle (Agenzia Fides) – On Saturday, October 2 at 18, at the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of the Valley, there will be a Mass celebrated for the beginning of the Missions Month, October. The Mass will conclude a day of meeting, study, and prayer, to be held at the FASTA College in Catamarca. The local Church is celebrating its Jubilee Year in 2010, as the diocese was erected on January 21, 1910.
According to information received by Fides, the day is expected to be attended by a large number of pastoral workers in parishes, movements, and institutions of the diocese and neighboring dioceses, in response to the Document of Aparecida and the call "to rediscover the missionary spirit of the entire Church."
The slogan is "We want to see Jesus." During the meeting, which will begin at 9 am on October 2, Father Leo Oswald, National Director of Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS), will speak on "Mission and the Importance of the Mission,” followed by group session, moments of spirituality, and lastly, an exposition of Missionary Guidelines.
