In fact, the school aims at preparing young people in the area of missionary training, organization, and cooperation, so that they are able to guide groups of children and adolescents, always starting from fundamental Christian principles. On this occasion, the activities will take place in the “Virgen del Mar” School in the Diocese of Oruro and will be open to young people in the area of the Bolivian Plateau: La Paz, Coroico, Coro Coro, Oruro, and El Alto.
According to information received by Fides, the school program seeks to achieve some specific goals: a personal encounter with Christ; the promotion of the missionary task rooted in the experiennce of the school of Jesus; help guide young people in their work; share the missionary experience, offer new methods for missionary promotion and for the organization of missionary activity, training, and cooperation. There will be a special effort to motivate new participants to create new "schools" for adolescents (ELMA, “Escuela de Liderazgo Misionero para Adolescentes”) and to promote the work of communication, coordination, and cooperation among the different communities in the area .
Among the different activities announced in the program, the main classifications are moments of prayer, sharing, and training. The issues to be discussed are missionary spirituality, the Pontifical Mission Societies, going to “School” with Jesus, the foundations of the Mission, being a teenager today...etc. The meeting will end with a missionary march and a Missionary Mass on Sunday, September 5.
