Saturday, 28 August 2010

Hsinchu (Agenzia Fides) – Taiwan Youth Day 2010 is in full swing in the Diocese of Hsinchu. This year it is the Diocese of Hsinchu's turn to host the annual youth event held August 23 to 30, on the topic indicated by the Holy Father Benedict XVI: "Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?" (Mk 10:17). According to information gathered by Fides, the Youth Day organizers intend to offer young people a powerful experience of faith, applying Biblical teachings to everyday life, especially given the theme of the Day. During the concert that took place yesterday evening, August 27, with the participation of the diocesan bishop, the young people experienced a sense of community by praying together for Taiwan. Taiwan Youth Day 2010 is a gathering of Catholic youth held every year or every two years, according to local pastoral needs, which is sponsored by the Regional Bishops' Conference of Taiwan. The seven dioceses of the island take turns hosting the event for the children and young people aged 16 to 35 years. (NZ) (Agenzia Fides 28/08/2010)
