Salta (Agenzia Fides) – Today 31 July, registration starts for the Second Course of Missionary Formation and Animation to be held in Salta, Argentina. Organised by the Pontifical Mission Societies and the mission pastoral commission of the archdiocese of Salta, for the 7th consecutive year, this annual Course 2 will commence on 7 August and last until the end of October.
The Course is open to pastoral workers who desire to complete their missionary formation. Requisites for participation include: secondary school education (completed or to be completed), age, 18 plus and a letter of presentation from the respective parish priest.
The two year programme consists of four courses which are independent and therefore may be taken in any order.
The aim of the course is to form mission animators committed to meeting the growing needs of the Church's universal mission. The Course elaborates missionary formation through elements of mission theology, spirituality and methodology.
The programme of Course 2 covers the following subjects: basic Mission Theology (Christology for Mission, Ecclesiology for Mission, the Missionary dimension of the Liturgy, Ecumenism and the Missionary dimension of Aparecida), Mission Spirituality (foundations and missionary dimension of the Christian vocation) Mission Didactics (process, contents, dynamics and Parish Missions).
