Mexico City (Agenzia Fides) – The Church in Mexico will celebrate the 14th National Mission Congress CONAMI in Lazaro Cardenas City, in the state of Michoacan, 21 - 24 October 2010. In a special statement Bishop Rafael Sandoval Sandoval of the diocese of Tarahumara warmly invited all the faithful to take part in the important event. Fides received a copy of the Bishop's statement from the Pontifical Mission Societies in Mexico. The slogan of the Mission Congress is “Like Maria, we share our faith with joy”. “I am always moved when I read the Gospel of St Luke - Bishop Sandoval writes in the statement – where it says that Mary went in haste across the hills to visit her cousin Elizabeth. She bore the Son of God in her womb, she carried the Message in her heart. So, when her cousin heard Mary's greeting, ‘the child in her womb leapt for joy (Lk 1, 41). To leap means to dance, to rejoice, to be happy … I am the Bishop of Tarahumara. When I offer the message of Christ, people dance with joy. All peoples and all cultures await this great news which changes our life. Mary teaches us to share what we have received with joy.
