Thursday, 27 May 2010

Buenos Aires (Agenzia Fides) - “The proposal of the National Commission for Justice and Peace, which reflects the thinking and wishes of many, is becoming more timely and necessary: working together in all areas that make up Argentinean society for the promotion, creation, and implementation of public policies arising from dialogue and consensus, ensuring the common good, social inclusion and respect for human dignity..." This is what is read in the statement from the National Commission for Justice and Peace of the Argentinean Bishops' Conference on the celebration of the Bicentennial.
The Commission note refers to the last Plenary Assembly of Bishops, where the pastors said: "Our homeland is a gift we have received. The nation is a task that involves us and our committed efforts. Assuming this mission in a fraternal spirit is the best way to celebrate the Bicentennial of our country."
For a week, all Argentineans are celebrating the Bicentennial of Independence of the country with artistic and cultural activities.
