Czestochowa (Agenzia Fides) – On Saturday, May 15, the Pontifical Mission Societies of the Archdiocese organized “Missionary Workshops” in Czestochowa, in preparation for the VIII National Missionary Congress for Children to be held at the Shrine of the Black Madonna of Jasna Gora May 28 to 29, 2010. According to information sent to Fides, the workshops were attended by priests, religious, catechists, missionaries, and all those responsible for the Pontifical Mission Societies in the parishes of the Archdiocese. During the workshops, the animators presented the missionary effort, the challenges for the Church in evangelization, the theme of education to the mission, and the program for the 8th National Missionary Congress for Children, whose theme will be "We Tell the World: God is Love."
The "Missionary Workshops,” started in 2000 at the request of the Archbishop of Czestochowa, Archbishop Stanislaw Nowak, are organized by the Diocesan Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies, Father Jacek Gancarek. "Through the Missionary Workshops, we want to present the rich and important missionary situation of today. We want to bear witness to missionary work and, at this time, prepare ourselves well for the Congress," Fr. Jacek Gancarek told Fides. (MF/SL) (Agenzia Fides 17/05/2010)
