Morón (Agenzia Fides) – Tomorrow, Friday 7 May, in the parish premises of the Cathedral of the diocese of Moròn, in Argentina, preparations will begin for the 1st Diocesan Mission Congress with the convocation of the members of all the parish groups and associations of the diocese. These people will be entrusted with the special the duty of offering prayers to support the works of the Mission Congress, which is to take place 21 - 23 May with the theme " Missionary Disciples: you are the light of the world and the salt of the earth".
A report sent to Fides reads: “Today the Diocesan Mission Congress opens its arms to welcome the individual members of all parish groups and associations, so that, in communion with our Bishop, Mgr Luis Guillermo Eichhorn, they may listen to the Holy Spirit and thank Him for all He has done in the history and journey of our diocesan Church, and discern new ways to incarnate the missionary proposals of Aparecida.”
The general purpose of this 1st Diocesan Mission Congress is to be "a motivating and illuminating event for the missionary vocation of the diocese", a more specific goal is to "promote permanent mission in every parish, in every community and Church movement as the spirit and style of all pastoral activity, striving to help all members take an active role and offering missionary guide-lines in this sense". The event will also be an opportunity to discover new concrete paths of evangelisation suited to the diocesan reality, and also to “encourage more people, particularly young people, to be promoters of mission awareness”.
