La Paz (Agenzia Fides) – With the slogan "For a renewed social ministry in the service of integral human promotion," this May 10 to 13, the city of Trinidad is expected to host the celebration of the 10th National Assembly of the Pastoral/Social Ministry of Caritas. At the same venue of the first meeting, which took place 10 years ago, this event is seen as a symbolic act and is considered as an "Assembly of the New Foundation," in the light of the document "Renewing the service facilities of the CEB (Bolivian Bishops' Conference).”
This meeting has an objective: "Defining common lines of action of the National Network of Pastoral/Social Ministry Caritas, in light of the document of guidelines for the renewal of CEB structures and the challenges of the Bolivian reality." The plan is to develop four themes: 1) The Christian Vision of Bolivia 2) Guidelines From the Document "Renewing the service facilities of the CEB for the Pastoral/Social Ministry of Caritas 3) Roles and Functions of the National Assembly, the Consultive Council, SEPAS CARITAS, and the Regional Pastoral/Social Ministry of Caritas 4) Common Guidelines for the Pastoral/Social Ministry of Caritas Bolivia.
This meeting will be attended by the President of the CEB, the Chairman of the Department of Human Promotion, Vice President of the Episcopal Commission for Pastoral/Social Ministry of Caritas Boliviana, the Presiding Bishop of the Pastoral/Social Ministry of Regional Caritas or the Bishops' delegates, the Executive Secretary or Director of each administration of Pastoral/Social Ministry of Caritas and the Regional Coordinator in charge, as well as the National Coordinators for the Pastoral Care of Migrants, prison ministry, and health pastoral ministry. There will also be some special guests.
The 10th National Assembly of the Pastoral/Social Ministry of Caritas aims to achieve a shared Christian vision of the national situation and determine the applicability of social ministry in the context of new structures of CEB, as well as clarify the roles at national and local levels and offer joint courses of action.
