ASIA/CHINA - Extended Eucharistic Adoration in the parish of Wa Gou in Xin Zhou, to start off Chinese New Year

Xin Zhou (Agenzia Fides) – The Catholic faithful of the parish of Wa Gou in the city of Xin Zhou, Shan Xi Province, celebrated Chinese New Year in a special way, intensely focused on the Eucharist. During the two-week festival, February 15 to 28, the parish organized daily Eucharistic adoration. In addition to Bible readings and reflections on Scripture led by priests and religious, the faithful also submitted their prayer intentions. The Adoration ended each day with the Benediction with the Blessed Sacrament. According to the pastor, "to accompany Jesus and be accompanied by Jesus, and listening to the Word of God, is essential to our lives. The Eucharist is our life. In beginning the year with this Adoration, we begin a new life under the light of the Eucharist. There is no better way we could offer our faithful in celebrating the New Year."
