EUROPE/ITALY - “Romero: Pastor, Prophet, and Martyr” is the theme for a weekend retreat to conclude a year of reflection on the 30th anniversary of assassination of the Archbishop of San Salvador

Rome (Agenzia Fides) – As part of the journey of missionary reflection for the 30th anniversary of the assassination of Archbishop Oscar Arnulfo Romero, Archbishop of San Salvador (El Salvador), which occurred March 24, 1980, Missionary Youth (Comigo) offers to all young, daily workers of the Good News, a weekend of missionary spirituality entitled “Romero: Pastor, Prophet, and Martyr. A Sign of the Dream,” which will take place from 30 April to 2 May 2010, in Rocca di Papa, at the Center for Spirituality “For a Better World.” During these months the youth are in fact following a path of training and reflection on Oscar Arnulfo Romero, whose memory is particularly vivid, in order to rediscover, through pastoral aids and documents, the significance of the proclamation of the “Gospel of Love.” At the culmination of this journey, the weekend in late April will propose testimonies, reflections, workshops and moments of prayer.
