AFRICA/CAMEROON - Archbishop of Douala resigns, successor appointed

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI on 16 November 2009, accepted the renunciation of the pastoral government of the Archdiocese of Douala (Cameroon) presented by Bishop Christian Wiyghan Tumi, in conformity with the Code of Canon Law, canon 401 § 1. He is succeeded by Bishop Samuel Kleda, Coadjutor of the same Archdiocese. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 17/11/2009)
