Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) – On the occasion of the Year for Priests, which His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI declared beginning with the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, this past June 19, 2009, the Pontifical Council for Health Care Workers has issued a Letter addressed to the sick, suffering, and health care workers, as the Year for Priests gives all the sick an occasion to offer their prayers and sufferings to the Lord of Life, for the holiness of priests, that they carry out their Christ-given ministry with dedication and pastoral charity, as well as for new priestly and religious vocations.
