Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI on 14 May 2009, accepted the renunciation of the pastoral government of the Diocese of Kurunegala (Sri Lanka), presented by Bishop Anthony Leopold Raymond Peiris, in conformity with the Code of Canon Law, canon 401 § 1. The Holy Father appointed Bishop Harold Anthony Perera, until now Bishop of Galle, as Bishop of Kurunegala (Sri Lanka). (SL) (Agenzia Fides 14/5/2009)
