AFRICA/CAMEROON - Bishop of Sangmelima resigns, successor appointed

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) – The Holy Father Benedict XVI, on December 4, 2008, accepted the renunciation of the pastoral government of the Diocese of Sangmelima (Cameroon) presented by Bishop Raphaël Marie Ze, in conformity with the Code of Canon Law, canon 401 § 1. The Holy Father appointed as Bishop of Sangmelima (Cameroon), Bishop Christophe Zoa, who until now has served as Titular Bishop of Ilta and Auxiliary of the Archdiocese of Yaounde.
