VATICAN - Benedict XVI will make a pastoral visit to the Pontifical Shrine in Pompei, Sunday October 19

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) – On Sunday, October 19, the Holy Father XVI will make a pastoral visit to the Pontifical Shrine of Pompei. According to the schedule issued by the Holy See Press Office, at 9am he will leave the Vatican by helicopter, headed for Pompei. At 10am he will arrive at the Meeting Area at the Pontifical Shrine of Pompei, and at 10:30am he will celebrate Mass in the square in front of the Shrine, followed by a Supplication to Our Lady of Pompei and the offering of the “Golden Rose” to Our Lady, followed by the recitation of the Angelus. In the afternoon, at 5 o’clock, the Holy Father will lead the recitation of the Rosary at the Shrine of Pompei and will give a meditation.
