ASIA/TAIWAN - The Tao Yuan Rehabilitation Hospital opens a Prayer Room for Catholics

Tai Pei (Agenzia Fides) – The Tao Yuan Rehabilitation Hospital that depends from the most important state hospital in Taiwan, the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, is opening a Prayer Room for Catholics. According to a report from Christian Life Weekly, the weekly bulletin of the Archdiocese of Tai Pei, the room will be officially inaugurated next February. Fr. Anthonius Lin, OFM, spiritual director of the Association of Catholic Friends of the Sick, along with the hospital management and the local Catholic community of Tao Yuan who will administer pastoral care from the Prayer Room, all recently participated in a logistics meeting. According to the conclusions, the Catholic volunteers will be at the Room at least 2 half-days per week, in order to respond to the spiritual needs of the patients, and once a month there will be a Mass celebrated there. The group of Catholics that will take care of the Room will also oversee the supply of materials for the functioning of the area, visit the sick regardless of religious belief and maintain contact with the other organizations that offer moral support to the sick.
