Czestochowa (Agenzia Fides) - On Mission Sunday, 21 October, the 5th Week for Christian Culture 21-28 October was opened in Czestochowa, Poland. The initiative is sponsored by metropolitan Archbishop of Czestochowa, Archbishop Stanislaw Nowak, the mayor of Czestochowa, Mr Tadeusz Wrona, the Office for pastoral care of the world of culture of the archdiocese of Czestochowa, the Gaude Mater Cultural Institute and the Catholic weekly newspaper Niedziela.
Activities during the 5th Week for Christian Culture will include religious events, exhibitions, films of Christian inspiration. On 22 October in the offices of Niedziela there was a meeting on the Bible and its presence in the world of culture. Among those present Bishop Kazimierz Romniuk, emeritus bishop of Warsaw-Praga, and chief writer at Niedziela, Mgr Ireneusz Skubiś. (MF) (Agenzia Fides 23/10/2007; righe 11, parole 140)
