Asuncion (Agenzia Fides) - The Social Friendship Mission has just celebrated is 54th anniversary in Paraguay with the motto: ‘Building Life, Serving the Lord'.
The organisation was started in the United States by the Missionaries of the Christian Church and Missionary Disciples of Christ and former pupils of a local International College.
The Social Friendship Mission witnesses to Christ by serving others without discrimination, alleviating suffering and instilling hope in people living in poverty, helping the blind, street children, child workers and indigenous people to meet their deepest physical, emotional, economic and spiritual needs.
Social Friendship Mission also promotes equal opportunities, medical service of prevention and treatment in healthcare and education. It assists families, women, children young people and the elderly.(AP) (18/10/2007 Agenzia Fides; Righe:19; Parole:167)
